I’m looking forward to attending the first workshop of the Modern Future network at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston next Friday (23 January), in which I’ve been invited to participate by my Director of Studies, Dr Hannah Neate. Next Friday’s event includes a free film screening which is open to the public.

An observation, investigation and social record of the lives and thoughts of ten residents of the Golden Lane Estate, London. Built in the late 1950s by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, the Golden Lane estate exemplifies an utopian ideal of social housing. Made to mark the 50th anniversary of the Golden Lane Estate. Filmed in 2010 whilst Artist-in-Residence for EXHIBIT Gallery Super Estates Foundation.

A unique portrait of Sheffield’s in/famous Park Hill estate, created during an eclipse period between clearance and reinvention. Commissioned by Art Sheffield for the Sheffield Pavilion ’09 and the 11th Istanbul Biennial.
